How the business started
Brandon built the company one service and one job at a time, learning pricing, crews and customers along the way.
Right out of high school
One man, a power washer
Brandon always knew he wanted to work for himself. Instead of the usual route after graduation, he started his own business with power washing: simple jobs that taught him how to deal with customers and run a job from start to finish.
About two years in
Flooring, and the business takes off
He added services one at a time as the work called for them. Flooring was the turning point, and from there the jobs kept getting bigger.
Growing the trade list
Drywall, trim, then full remodels
Customers wanted one company for the whole job, so the crew took on drywall and trim, and eventually complete kitchen, bathroom and whole-home remodels.
The big shift
Working with real estate investors
Investor work moved the company from small jobs to large-scale projects and full property rehabs. It forced fast growth: real numbers for pricing, better systems and crews that could handle more at once.
A new name
Martens Home Remodeling
Along the way Brandon restructured and rebranded the business around what it does best today: full residential remodeling, start to finish.
Where the company is today
Brandon is in his mid-twenties and runs a full-service remodeling company across St. Charles, St. Charles County, St. Louis and St. Louis County. It is a one-stop shop: one team for the whole renovation.
